How a Sofa Throw Became the Coolest Wall Art

“Tired of blank, boring walls—and even more tired of expensive decor? I get it. When your wall feels lifeless and your budget says “not today,” it’s time to get clever..”

This rental-friendly bedroom hack? It’s bold, budget-proof, and takes 10 minutes to pull off.

Meet the “Wall Hanging Hack” using… a sofa throw.

Inspired by the ever-creative Ammarah from the UK, this one simple styling move turned her bedroom into a cozy, colorful retreat—with zero paint or pricey art involved.

This is one of the hacks I sent out in my daily newsletter daily decor hacks. Continue reading to learn the hack and subscribe below to get such hacks and their video tutorial in your mailbox!

Here’s how she did it:

1. Staple the throw to two thin wooden slats—one on the top, one on the bottom. This keeps it flat, stretched, and looking intentional (not like you just tacked it up in a rush).
2. Mount the frame using Command strips or a few nails. Totally renter-friendly, totally reversible.
3. Step back and admire your new high-impact focal point.

This works behind beds, above sofas, in reading nooks—anywhere you want instant texture, pattern, and warmth.

I shared this hack in one of my newsletter editions of Daily Decor Hacks.
