I have talked about all the templates Jasper is offering right now. So, it’s time to test a few of my favorite templates.

Content Summarizer

This tool helps you summarize long forms of content in short bullet points. You can enter 16000 characters as input. This is fairly a good amount of characters. 

The input I gave the AI is a medical research paper that studies the impact of sugar on heart health and diabetes.

The following is the output it generated. As you can see, the tool has used very simple language that anyone can understand. 

• Studies have found a positive association between sugar and risk of type 2 diabetes (T2DM), particularly with fructose and sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs).

• Numerous systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and econometric models have found strong associations between SSB consumption and T2DM incidence.

• While some studies have found no relationship between added sugars and diabetes risk, studies that supported the impact of fructose, glucose, and SSB intake on increased diabetes risk typically had longer follow-up periods. 

• Natural fructose from fruits may be associated with reduced risk of T2DM whereas fructose from SSBs is associated with an increased risk. 

• High sugar intake has been shown to be significantly associated with increased dyslipidaemia. 

• Long term SSB consumption has been linked to hyperinsulinemia, hypertriglyceridemia, and other impairments in insulin signalling which are associated with heart disease.

The tool has done a pretty good job, but I have found a few grammatical errors.

Content Improver 

Content Improver takes a piece of content and rewrites it to make it more engaging, creative, and interesting. 

Here to test the tool’s capabilities, I have given an email requesting for refund due to dissatisfaction with Gym services as input. I have also given “angry” as the tone of voice. I must say, the tool has done a pretty good job.

Explain It To A Child

Jasper’s “Explain It To A Child” takes a rather complicated concept to explain and transforms into a very simple paragraph that even a child can understand. It uses smaller words and gives you a general ideas of what it is all about.

Quantum physics is a complicated subject that no one can understand in a single read. So I used this content to test the “Explain It To A Child” template. 

Besides the input text, the tool also asks “output grade level”. This feature allows us to tell how simple the output must be on a scale of 10 to 100. I gave 2 grade levels.

Output – 

Quantum physics is a type of science that studies tiny particles like atoms and smaller pieces. It is different from classical science because it says things can exist in more than one way at the same time. Particles can also be connected, even when they are far away from each other. Certain things cannot be known together and particles can go through walls that would stop them in classical physics. Wavefunctions and operators help to explain quantum states.

You can clearly see how Jasper has simplified the above content. This template is obviously a gem.

Engaging Questions

This template generates interesting questions to increase engagement.

We need to develop an engaging and insightful feedback form for participants of our recent virtual wellness retreat. This template can be really helpful in coming up with new ideas to market our products or brand. But what I felt is that the feature is far away from being finished. The ideas it generated are either pretty normal or don’t make any sense.

Tone detector is also one of the great tools that Jasper is offering. It basically helps in detecting the tone of voice used in the piece of content you entered in the box provided. 

The tool has generated a detailed output about the tone of voice used in the content. It has done a pretty good job but I don’t think everyone will use it regularly.

It’s time for the outline – 

Honestly, I think Jasper can do better with the outputs. I also noticed that it was able to generate better content for the second prompt related to writing a blog post on Wrinkled Hands. The outline generated in both examples didn’t seem aligned with any SEO guidelines. When writing long-form SEO posts, it will be helpful to integrate with tools like Surfer SEO.

Jasper brand voice

Jasper Brand Voice is a new feature that allows users to train the tool to create content that is tailored to your brand. This means, you can fine-tune Jasper to write in the style and tone of your brand. 

Brand voice has two parts – 

1. Knowledge base
2. Voice and tone

Knowledge base 

Knowledge base section is where you need to provide Jasper some facts and data that it needs to remember. You can use this feature while writing so that Jasper can write factually about your products, company and more.

You can even train the tool about your brand’s tone, style, product catalog and new facts about your business. 

Jasper analyzes your brand by the content you enter, the document you upload or the website URL you type. 

You can also upload product catalogs with all the important information, if you are in the e-commerce industry.  This helps Jasper to generate product descriptions effectively. 

I wanted to test this feature more, but it isn’t accessible for free trials.

Voice and Tone

In this feature, you will have to import your content so that Jasper can analyze it and determine the tone and style of your brand.

Jasper can learn your tone of voice from your website, text or document.

Just like Knowledge Base, you can either enter your website’s URL, or copy and paste text that is related to your brand.

Jasper then analyzes the content and learns how to write so that it matches your brand’s tone and writing style.

After completely scanning the URL I have given, Jasper has determined my brand voice.

You can also customize the brand voice by providing the tool with a custom prompt. 

But, I guess I don’t have to change that because I am very much satisfied with what Jasper has created. This way, I can create multiple brand voices and use them on demand when generating content inside Jasper. 

The Four Modes Of Jasper In The Long Form Content

The “+ Blank Document” feature in Jasper allows you to write long form content like blog posts, sales pages, video scripts, etc. 

Jasper offers four modes while writing long form content. These modes help in writing the content effectively.

1. Focus Mode
2. Chat Mode
3. Power Mode
4. SEO Mode

1. Focus Mode

The focus mode in the blank document helps in writing your content without any hassle.

Here’s how it words – 

1. Enter the description – Give the tool with some information about what you want to write.
2. Tone of Voice – Now enter the tone of voice. By entering, you are asking jasper to write in a particular tone and style. 
3. Hit Continue Writing – Soon after clicking the button, Jasper starts writing.

After writing every few lines, the tool asks if we want to continue or not. If you like what Jasper is writing, you can click the arrow mark. By clicking the arrow mark symbol, Jasper continues to write a few other lines. 

The “+” button is where you can type in a command if at all you need to change anything in the content.

2. Chat Mode (Jasper Chat)

Think of Jasper Chat as a cool tool, kind of like ChatGPT. You can ask it questions or tell it what to do, and it gives you answers.

Now, here’s the difference: Jasper Chat doesn’t do plugins or browsing like ChatGPT Plus does. 

But what makes Jasper Chat best is that you can use it alongside a document editor. That means you can easily write blog posts while chatting with Jasper.

3. Power Mode

Power mode of Jasper directly gives access to all the templates and workflows in the drawer right inside the Document. 

You can directly apply the required template or workflow into the document. To test it, I used the creative story template. The input given is the same output that Jasper has generated in the right side block.

Below is the output it generated. Now I can simply paste this story in the document or use it anywhere else. 

I see myself using the power mode more often as it is very handy. 

4. SEO Mode

Imagine creating blog posts super fast that not only sound amazing but also climb up the Google ranks in no time. Amazing, right? This is exactly what you can do if you integrate surfer with Jasper. In 2021, Jasper collaborated with the Surfer SEO team to help bloggers generate high quality content that can rank higher in Google.

Now, the big question: Do you need to get Surfer SEO along with Jasper AI? Yep, if you want to use the Surfer SEO feature with Jasper.ai, you’ll need to get a subscription to Surfer SEO. It’s like an extra cool add-on, not a must-have.

Here is how you can Surfer SEO in Jasper.

Just go to settings, click on  integrations and turn on Surfer SEO mode.

Now open a new document and you will see SEO mode along with the focus, chat and power modes.

Log into your surfer account here and you are all set to use Surfer inside Jasper.

My Experience With Jasper AI

When it comes to AI writing tools, Jasper is the clear winner among the bunch.

The tool offers much more than some basic copywriting templates. It includes many fancy templates like dynamic templates, content summarizer, blog post outline, blog post ideas, youtube ideas, social media content, AI commands, chat, workflows, and SEO capabilities.
